At Thomas Jones, design technology is a subject that drives many of our integrated curriculum units. We believe it is an important subject in its own right, providing pupils with an opportunity to plan, make and evaluate products. Design technology is also a vehicle for teaching other skills such as working collaboratively and working to a brief. Taught well, it provides opportunities to develop enterprise capability, economic and business understanding, and financial capability through real-life projects. The subject is divided into three disciplines: textiles, modelling and food.
