Art Workshops
Thomas Jones was lucky enough to receive a grant towards our art curriculum. All classes have been taking part in a printing workshop based around the theme of Kindness to Animals, Ourselves and Others.

RSPCA Fundraiser

Food Chains and Ecosystems
Last week, the Year 4 scholars excelled in an inventive and language-rich depiction of our fragile eco-system. The staging, costumes and face paints were exacting.
Movember at Thomas Jones
The school community came together to raise £324.26 for research into prostate cancer.
Respect Workshops
This week children enjoyed a visit from Simone Torrey (Education Officer for the local authority) who undertook interactive class workshops across the school, where children explored their understanding of mutual respect and tolerance.
Black History Month
The whole school Black History Month project organised by history leader Ms Kiley, inspired children to research the Empire Windrush as part of the 75 year anniversary.
Harvest Contributions
Last half term councillors from across the school took it in turns to accompany Ms Polly Holmes to Thomas Darby Court Sheltered Housing delivering the many contributions for Harvest Festival.
Immersive History
Year 6 and Ms Rachel McCombe arrived this morning resplendent in an array of flat caps, waistcoats and neckerchiefs, evocations of Victorians.
Mathematics Challenge
Earlier this week four of our strongest mathematicians ventured to Notting Hill Preparatory School to take part in an inter Notting Hill Schools Number Challenge.
Enrichment Activities
As its name suggests, our post 3.20 Play Plus venture affords extra-curricular enrichment in drawing, cooking, sport and safe play.
A Bumper Harvest
Yesterday’s assembly was sublime. Year 2 performed to a packed hall. Their parred-back staging of ‘The Little Red Hen’ was disarming and hugely well received.
Works of Art
On Tuesday, Year 6 visited the William Morris Gallery to participate in a printing workshop.
Reading on the Tube
Never shy in finding opportunities to read, Y6 scholars passed the time on the tube (travelling to a gallery) immersing themselves in high quality newspapers and favourite books.
Morocco Appeal
There was a non-uniform day on Friday 15th September to raise money for the emergency Morocco earthquake appeal to support the communities most affected by the disaster (ActionAid UK.)
Welcome Back
The manner in which all pupils have so effusively settled last week was humbling.
Nothing Gold Can Stay
Assiduous, tenacious and unerringly loyal to everything Thomas Jones represents, Year 6 have shone. Last week's performances of Peter Pan were superlative. All children shone and wondered audiences from the youngest Nursery child to the Royal Borough's Head of Education. Bittersweet tears were shed.
Year 2 Science Trip
Year 2 recently visited the incredible Look Out Centre at Hyde Park for a day jam-packed with hands on activities – from meadow sweeping, to bird watching, log rolling and pond dipping.
Summer was the Time
