Fundraising

Despite the many achievements of the school, and being prudent and cautious in regard to how we spend our allocated funding, increasingly we struggle financially. Incremental increases in funding in recent years are not sufficient. Costs have increased per se. and funding does not reflect that. There is a mismatch between what things cost in the here and now, and the allocated funding. With this in mind, fundraising has become a priority at Thomas Jones.

Thomas Jones Patron Scheme

This year, thanks to a group of loyal parents a new fundraising initiative has been implemented called the Thomas Jones Patron Scheme. This involves parents, parents of ex-pupils and some local businesses becoming ‘Patrons’ of Thomas Jones. Each patron has made a donation of £500 or more (one-off, or annually) to help fund a particular area of the school’s activity. We currently have patrons for literacy, music, sports, art, science, drama, software, SEN, dyslexia, uniform, sustainability, languages, mainstream academics, adventure and discovery, and design, enterprise and invention.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all patrons for their generosity and ongoing trust and support. These donations will enable equity, enrichment and high standards of learning to continue for all pupils at Thomas Jones.

Some other parents at the school have expressed an interest in joining the Patrons scheme, which is wonderful, and if anyone else would like to do the same, please contact Abi Kantoch, Senior Leader, via patron@thomasjones.co.uk.

May we take this opportunity to thank Kevin, Stacey and Managing Director Darren from Lords Building Merchants  for their generous donation earlier this month. Not only have they donated vital funds but have also pledged to support us with some small scale building projects in our play grounds such as developing our planters. We are incredibly grateful.
