Fundraising

Despite the many achievements of the school, and being prudent and cautious in regard to how we spend our allocated funding, increasingly we struggle financially. Incremental increases in funding in recent years are not sufficient. Costs have increased per se. and funding does not reflect that. There is a mismatch between what things cost in the here and now, and the allocated funding. With this in mind, fundraising has become a priority at Thomas Jones.

Thomas Jones Patron Scheme

In recent years, thanks to a group of loyal parents, a fundraising initiative was implemented called The Thomas Jones Patron Scheme. This involves parents, parents of ex-pupils and some local businesses becoming ‘Patrons’ of Thomas Jones. Each patron has made a donation of £500 or more (one-off, or annually) to help fund a particular area of the school’s activity. We currently have patrons for literacy, music, sports, art, science, drama, software, SEN, dyslexia, uniform, sustainability, languages, mainstream academics to name a few.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all patrons for their generosity and ongoing trust and support. These donations will enable equity, enrichment and high standards of learning to continue for all pupils at Thomas Jones.

Some other parents at the school have expressed an interest in joining the Patrons Scheme, which is wonderful, and if anyone else would like to do the same, please contact Abi Kantoch, Senior Leader, via patron@thomasjones.co.uk.

Local Sponsors

Lords Builders Merchants lords.png

Following on from last year's donation, local business Lords Building Merchant continue to support Thomas Jones with small scale projects in the grounds which they undertake, both materials and labour, for free. May we take this opportunity to thank Kevin, Stacey, Zara and Managing Director Darren for their generous donation and ongoing support. We are incredibly grateful.

Biscuiteers            BISCUITEERS-BIRD LOGO ROLLING PIN VECTOR.webp

We would like to take the opportunity to thank local business, Biscuiteers for their support as part of our recent fundraising efforts. The team at the local branch on Kensington Park Road very kindly donated some biscuits that were used as thank you gifts for our Patrons. The biscuits were beautiful, mini works of art which wowed us all. Thank you Biscuiteers!

Biscuiteers make beautiful, hand iced biscuits, cakes and chocolates. Each collection is presented in an exquisite illustrated keep-sake tin or box which can be kept long after the treats are gone. Biscuiteers offers a range of workshops and summer holiday activities as well as children’s party events at their icing cafes. Details of all they offer can be found at www.biscuiteers.com.
