A Day of Drama and Dance
Linked to World Book Day last week, Years 1 - 6 took part in Bringing Books to Life dance and drama workshops today, giving the children an immersive experience of storytelling.
Each class worked alongside Louie, a choreographer and musical theatre specialist, to explore 'Where the Wild Things Are' by Maurice Sendak through movement.
The children used their imagination and creative flair to collaborate and bring the story to life, culminating in a mini performance. This workshop gave the children a taster for storytelling through the media of movement and dance and, judging by how engaged each child was and the way some children talked about it afterwards, it was a huge success.
