VE Day
Thomas Jones marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day with interactive workshops which were informative and entertaining.
The children heard stories about life in London during the Blitz and key events during World War II such as D-Day. The bravery, grit and determination of the Allies was brought to life and the children were able to then appreciate the significance of VE Day.
Some Year 5 children dressed up in their evacuee costumes which added to the authenticity to the celebrations.
The pupils were intrigued and showed curiosity, asking pertinent questions about events which are still just in living memory.
