Hyde Park Visit

To support their understanding of habitats, food chains and plants in their local area, Year 2 visited Hyde Park for the day.

The children participated in a day long workshop where they explored four different habitats. They studied invertebrates with magnifying glasses, pond dipped, saw newts and toads, did a meadow sweep with nets and birdwatched with binoculars. All the time they were learning from the expert ecologist Alec.

The children were delighted to have discovered so much nature in the heart of London and had much to talk about on their return to school.
