A Bumper Harvest
Yesterday’s assembly was sublime. Year 2 performed to a packed hall. Their parred-back staging of ‘The Little Red Hen’ was disarming and hugely well received.
Every syllable was enunciated with brio. The costumes, evocations of farmers, sheaves of wheat, a cat, a rat and a bull, were exquisite, and the choreography, affording all children an opportunity to excel, was inventive. Much praise is due to the staff who teach this cohort and especially Melissa Kiley, who directed the play with such aplomb. As is our tradition, donations of non-perishable foods for the residents of Thomas Darby Court were delivered by our class councillors. I think it fair to say that due to your incredible generosity, 2023 will be remembered as a ‘Bumper Harvest’.
