One Potato, Two Potato...
Year 2 harvested their potatoes this week. Having patiently tended the potato plants over the past few weeks, the time came to tip out the bags and reveal the hidden tubers.
It was a wonderful way to learn about the lifecycle of plants and where our food comes from. Having weighed and washed the potatoes, the children ate potato salad with mint and basil from the raised bed. The whole class agreed - there is nothing better than a new potato fresh from the soil.
