Roman Artefacts

Junior historians attending lunchtime history club as well as Year 4 pupils, both had the opportunity to examine two actual Roman artefacts.

Found in Colchester, the children took time to marvel at both part of a Roman flanged bowl as well as an folded beaker/drinking vessel. Local archaeologists date the pieces as 275-425CE and 225-275CE respectively. The items are assumed to be 'highly likely buried as features of graves' despite no human remains being found. The children were fascinated.
