Choir Shine

Performing a medley of songs inspired by the forthcoming Jubilee, on Wednesday our choir ventured to Thomas Darby Court residential care home.

A short repertoire in celebration of the Queen's remarkable 70 years of public service included 'Scarborough Fair' and 'A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square' (by all accounts, one of the royal household's favourites from the 1940s which references various London landmarks). The residents were overwhelmed seeing the children, and some joined in for the final performance of 'Doing the Lambeth Walk'. It is fair to say there was plenty of laughter, a few tears, and an incredible frisson of joy. Hurrah to that!
