The National Literacy Trust’s 2026 survey highlights the importance of fostering a love of reading, with children who enjoy reading far more likely to read every day. At Thomas Jones, reading is a priority from the moment children arrive at our school.
We are passionate about helping every child discover the joy, wonder and excitement that books can bring, nurturing confident, enthusiastic readers who develop a lifelong love of stories. Across the school, children enjoy sharing books together, with older pupils taking particular delight in reading to their younger peers.
