Nature Garden Re-Vamp

The biodiversity improvements to the wildlife pond and surrounding Nature Garden are now complete, thanks the National Education Nature Park grant.

Harry Forshaw and his team from Froglife came to add a variety of native pond plants such as marsh marigolds, water mint and water lilies. They also edged the pond with rocks to make it more amphibian friendly. The woodland area has been planted up with wild flowers to attract pollinators and bird houses and a bug hotel have been installed. The children will now be able to observe nature closely using an array of bug hunting and pond dipping equipment, binoculars and identification cards. We are extremely lucky to have this special habitat in our school grounds and we look forward to investigating the biodiversity and having a space to appreciate and admire the natural world.
