Reading on the Tube
Never shy in finding opportunities to read, Y6 scholars passed the time on the tube (travelling to a gallery) immersing themselves in high quality newspapers and favourite books.
Morocco Appeal
There was a non-uniform day on Friday 15th September to raise money for the emergency Morocco earthquake appeal to support the communities most affected by the disaster (ActionAid UK.)

The manner in which all pupils have so effusively settled last week was humbling.
Nothing Gold Can Stay
Assiduous, tenacious and unerringly loyal to everything Thomas Jones represents, Year 6 have shone. Last week's performances of Peter Pan were superlative. All children shone and wondered audiences from the youngest Nursery child to the Royal Borough's Head of Education. Bittersweet tears were shed.
Year 2 Science Trip
Year 2 recently visited the incredible Look Out Centre at Hyde Park for a day jam-packed with hands on activities – from meadow sweeping, to bird watching, log rolling and pond dipping.

Return of the Bees
Earlier this week, the Year 2 scholars tended our honeybee colony.
Collage
The children have begun to explore the medium of collage, firstly using colourful orgami paper to create their own pictures or patterns, and then moving on to turning magazines into colourful and vibrant collages inspired by the natural world.

Imam Visit
Dr Faid Mohammed Said, Imam of the London Central Mosque (by Regent’s Park) visited this week, with RBKC Education Officer Simone Torry - to speak to the children in Key Stage 2.
Eid Breakfast
At the start of last week pupils arrived for a special Eid breakfast in their smartest non-uniform attire. Some opted to wear clothing that reflects their cultural heritage. Others, donned blazers and trouser suits and a fair few, new shoes and trainers.
From Rags to Riches
The School Council arranged the 'Rags2Riches' collection on Friday 28th April as a fundraiser for the school.
Jazz Compositions
Year 5 have immersed themselves in musical composition, taking inspiration from Herbie Hancock.
The Bike Doctor

This week Year 1 welcomed two scientists from Imperial College London, who led a science workshop for National Science Week.

Last week, Year 3 visited the megafauna fossils exhibition at the Natural History Museum.
A Day of Drama and Dance
Linked to World Book Day last week, Years 1 - 6 took part in Bringing Books to Life dance and drama workshops today, giving the children an immersive experience of storytelling.

Phonics Open Afternoon and Chinese New Year in Reception Class
Last Thursday, every metre of Ms Polly Holmes' classroom had been transformed into a phonics emporium, with families immersing themselves in various games that develop pupils’ phonological awareness, all of which are transferrable to the home environment.
